Can Aloe Vera cure, help, treat or prevent Constipation?
The following information is for humans with Constipation
Introduction to Constipation
Constipation is a medical condition where the sufferer has painful or infrequent bowel movement.
It can be caused by poor diet, the side effects of medications or hormones but also by problems in the physical body of individuals. Aloe Vera will not be completely effective against this latter cause (where surgery may be required) although it may help.
Note that Constipation is not the same as Irritable Bowel Syndrome.
Using Aloe Vera for Constipation
Start with a low dose of Aloe Vera - about 10 ml three times a day on an empty stomach before meals. Note that large doses given to sufferers who have not used Aloe Vera before may have a laxative effect that could increase the pain.
Build up the dose gradually over a few days until you start to feel relief and more regular movement of the bowel.
How long will it take for Aloe Vera to work with Constipation?
The time it takes to experience relief varies from person to person with some seeing benefits within a few months and others needing far more patience.
As a general rule of thumb allow one month for every year that you have suffered constipation.
