Introduction to Scalds
A Scald is caused by hot liquid being spilt on the skin.
Using Aloe Vera for Scalds
In extreme cases medical assistance should be sought immediately as surgery may be required. For smaller scalds run the area under a cold tap for at least 10 minutes.
DO NOT USE BUTTER OR MARGARINE! This is an old wives tale but butter or margarine can actually start to 'fry' on the skin causing the heat to stay longer.
For smaller scalds, after cooling under cold water, spray with a mixture of high quality Aloe and soothing herbs. Apply a generous quantity of Aloe Gelatine (where Aloe is the number one ingredient). Apply again every hour or whenever pain is felt.
The Aloe will cool and sooth the skin while the antibacterial agent will stop any infection. The Aloe will penetrate deep into the skin rebuilding from the lowest level of the skin. As the new healthy cells push upwards and outwards the area may look better before it looks worse.
To avoid scarring continue to apply the gelatine until there is no sign of the burn.
How long will it take for Aloe Vera to work with Scalds?
