Can Aloe Vera cure, help, treat or prevent Psoriasis?
The following information is for humans with Psoriasis
Introduction to Psoriasis
Psoriasis is a dabilitating disease of the skin that many 'put up with'. Psoriasis causes skin cells to reproduce themselves every other day instead of every 21 to 30 days
Like Eczema there is no known cure but various 'symptom surpressors' exist. In conventional medicine this normally takes the form of steriod cream but with long term use it weakens and thins the skin.
The cause is unknown although it is generally agreed that it is, in part, psychosomatic because stress brings it on in many people. In a perfectly functioning body there is a between two substances called Cyclic AMP and Cyclic GMP. Some researchers have shown that poor digestion of proteins causes rotting and bacteria which in turn produces a toxic amino acid (poliamine) which breaks down this balance.

How long will it take for Aloe Vera to work with Psoriasis?
Because Aloe works from the bottom layer of the skin it will help the body build healthy skin cells which will push up and outward as well as bring the body back into balance. The external result is that the skin may look worse before it looks better but stick with it.
Recovery time will depend on the diet, other ailments and the quality of the products being used.
As a very general rule of thumb allow one month for every year of Psoriasis.
